i used halo mapping tools and got close but it said there was a tree error

This is done so that the client and server can tell if the maps are the same. When you compile a map in Tool it generates the checksum. The Halo PC modding tools do not take this into account, because Halo PC does not have a map making kit, so when you do a meta swap it changes the actual checksum without changing the stored calculated one. The map then errors.
