ok, sorry dennis but my first discussion of my problem with hek got pushed down onto the second page. I mean, who reads the second page?

Anyway, my large list of never ending problems may have finally come to an end.

Here it is,

I extract tags from a map with hek plus

now, when i run sapien as admin none of the tags show up

but if i run sapien normally they do

BUT if i run sapien normally, it crashes when i open it

hmm. what to do?

you'l probably have to extract the tags using HEK+ run as admin.
you are doing it right by running sapien as admin, but for sapien to read the files you extracted, the files have to be extracted by a program with admin permissions.
otherwise, sapien simply cannot find the file.

but in hek plus properties it doesn't have an option to run the program as admin. it says i have full permission and i am the pc administrator but sapien still doesn't read the files. is there a nother version of hek plus or something?

what i meant, is that you right-click the HEK+ .exe (or a shortcut to it, whichever you use more often), go to compatability, and make sure the "run as administrator" flag is checked.

also, i hope you are running the latest version of HEK+.

i've sorted it now

turns out the initial shortcut on the desktop was the rong one.
i had to go into the steelixb folder and create a shortcut to that hek plus then it had a compatibility section and so i could extract stuff now

YAY

it works!!!

finally!!!!!!!!!!!
