What I like to do is boot Halo, and then load a map, and then open the pause menu. Then, I begin recording. Once I begin recording, I boot Guerilla, and play the sound files. Then, I stop recording, and use a Video Sound Extractor that I downloaded a long time ago, and isolate the sound in Audacity.

Or you could record with a sound grabber app. I know there are several available for the windows sidebar that work pretty well. There is usually no need to edit the sound afterwards unless its for time, or your computer likes to make random wierd noises.

I open up Guerilla and Windows Sound Recorder, and set it to record stereo output and not mic input. I then hit record and play the sound in Guerilla. After that, I go into Goldwave and chop off the ends so there isn't any blank noise before it starts and after.
Works pretty well for me, I get virtually no background noise at all and the quality is fine.
