Retreat? Hell! We just got here!

I'm sure this has been seen more than enough times on this site, but I want straight answers. Plus by posting this again, others can look for tool problems on the first page in the forum listing instead of doing some sifting.

Here's the latest debug:

06.11.10 16:16:48 tool pc 01.00.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
06.11.10 16:16:48 reference function: _write_to_error_file

06.11.10 16:16:51 ECX: 0x0012E828
06.11.10 16:16:51 EDX: 0x000002CC
06.11.10 16:16:51 EDI: 0x0012E828
06.11.10 16:16:51 ESI: 0x00000000
06.11.10 16:16:51 EBP: 0x0012E700
06.11.10 16:16:51 ESP: 0x0012E6F0
06.11.10 16:16:51 EIP: 0x776B64F4, C3 8D A4 24 ?????
06.11.10 16:16:51 EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\tag_files\tag_files.c,#1358: full_name

And this is after several failed attempts at building the model. They all involved degenerate triangles, which I thought weren't good, but wouldn't prevent the model from building. I finally removed them all after about five cycles; after the latest cycle, tool didn't tell me I had any (or ANY error aside from what's above, for that matter). Since it didn't tell me why my model isn't building, I am completely lost on how to proceed. I tried kornman00's tool, but that thing stopped performing smoothly for me, I think because I use Windows 7 now, instead of XP (it doesn't give me any tool dialog that is present in the command line tool). Anyways, it didn't work there, either.

Can anyone provide some assistance? It's a bridge with two identical bases, slated for release as a scenery model so all the faces and IDs don't clog up the map I plan on putting it in, and in case anyone is interested in using it for their map(s).

1) I like waffles. Not booze. And I'm underage anyway.

2) After a pretty thorough search, which including digging through the forums manually, I haven't found a posting about my specific error. There are many that deal with cryptic errors, but no one has the same problem as me, at least from what I can tell.

flyinrooster said this : Hey, I fixed it! I found out that it was the tag from b40 that was just called ".weapon". Tags HAVE to have names or you get that error(I hope I remmeber that). Thanks for the support guys.

Yes I saw that. But perhaps someone could explain why I get such a problem? The only tags I'm referencing are bitmaps. Stock bitmaps. They are fine and I've never touched them. What tag do I have that isn't named? I'm very organized, so I would never leave a tag nameless.

Yes I did. I thought I found the solution, so I went in to my tags folder and got rid of some tags that looked redundant (I copied several to modify them into new weapons/vehicles). I figured that would fix it. But noooooo. I swear. I canNOT figure out what the hell is wrong here for the life of me. Everyone says look around for a blank, nameless tag, but I found none. I can't even find duplicates. And I don't get why tool needs to look at every tag I own just to build my base. My base references 13 stock bitmaps and nothing else.

I sifted through my tags folder and removed what appeared to be several redundant tags, but this has not solved my problem. Is there anyone out there who would care to speak up?
