Campaign maps, from either CE or PC Multiplayer maps from CE but I CAN open the original multiplayer maps (PC Bloodgulch etc) from PC. These are the only ones I can edit.
What is wrong? I extract them all with HEKplus, I try to load them in sapien and it just closes. I have tried to set the affiniy to 1, it still won't work. Help, please!

The debug in the CE directory? All that says is the messages about toolbeta.map not being able to be read. Edited by Jeebus NZL on Jun 7, 2010 at 01:10 AM
Well, it's official: Sapien refuses to open anything bigger than sidewinder. I tried to open infinity and it wouldn't let me. I try to open beavercreek, it lets me.

Try to open a map, let sapien close, then scroll down to the bottom of debug.txt and copy the last paragraph here.

It's not giving any errors. The only errors are those that originate from tool, when it mentions toolbeta

EDIT: Here is another error, this one with tool:
I type in: "tool build-cache-file levels\coldsnap\coldsnapwar" The folder created by HEKplus didn't put the coldsnap folder into "test" with the other maps. you have too many tags in your map. remove unnecessary tags and try to recompile with tool.

Thanks, but what about the fact that it says that the BR master round (<--- WTF is this?) isn't right? Or the fact that the other day it gave me an even more screwy error saying: "WARNING: Elite - Commander may be ambiguously attached to bsp #0 or #1 ^^ Not exact warning.
But what I don't get is that I tested this byextracting coldsnapwar DIRECTLY, WITHOUT TOUCHING A SINGLE THING, loading it in sapien (then sapien has some weird messages when I open the map) then attempting to make a .map file with tool. The same map somebody else managed to compile. I am at a loss.
When you say delete tags, do you mean off the map, or also in the 'edit types' tab too?

both in the vehicle palette (ie. the "Edit types" section you were referring to), and off the map, but delete all instances of a tag off the map before deleting from the edit types tab, or you'll get errors.
and about the br master rounds error, it has to do with the hud in one of your weapons, but usually there is no compiling issue with that, so you can leave it alone unless necessary.
for your elite commander error, one of the encounters in the map isn't configured to be used in which bsp the map has (in this case 1 and 2), but unless you are making a single player map with multiple bsps in the scenario, this error can also be ignored.
correct me if wrong. Edited by sargejohnson on Jun 8, 2010 at 05:48 AM
