for his second question, i think he meant the small thumbnail(picture preview) of the map when you click on it in the map selection menu in multiplayer (like bloodgulch, it shows a picture, then below the picture is a quote "The Quick and The Dead")

from memory, i havent seen anyone add preview pictures to their map files for the game to read, so i would assume it would be not possible.
correct me if i am wrong.

Oh. No, it definitely isn't possible, because from what I know, the preview pictures and the titles and what maps/map names they are associated with are embedded into the engine's code. Like when you name a map bloodgulch.map, and replace the original, the one you named will be the new Blood Gulch.

Besides, that's one of the ways custom maps are identified.

It's possible.

looks interesting, gotta add this to my tutorial collection.
anyway have you tried it before?

for the chat, would suggest you back up all your maps and reinstall HCE, or try

note: msxmlenu.msi can also be found in the redist folder of your halo ce installation.

Wait, what? How come I didn't notice that for the considerably long time I've been here? (I've been here a long time, just that I only bothered to crate an account now) Though I wonder why I haven't seen any maps with modified bitmaps yet.

CMT's first coagulation had a modified description. I myself didn't discover this tutorial for a long time.
