So there's a mod soon to be or already out for Just Cause 2 that syncs multiplayer. How can this be done when multiplayer isn't in the game at all? Isn't it like someone syncing AI in Halo CE then when there's no AI online?

Halo runs on a 9 year old engine developed specifically for single party use. The only multiplayer it incorporated was via console or LAN. The network coding required for LAN and internet play vary greatly, the game was never mean for online play in the first place. Not to mention the synchronization required to run between animations, npc locations, triggers, and cut scenes, which would require a completely different set of constantly cycling functions to check these things AND communicate back and forth between client and server side. Halo simply wasn't designed for it. Among other things that we've tried to do that just simply will not work on a 9 year old game engine never developed for these uses. If you have such great ideas (even online co-op) go learn Source, or UDK, or hell even Unity. Sometimes you need to just leave the past behind since a lot of ideas out there would be better executed on a newer engine.

wow kid(or chick, or dude, or thing) are u really trying to compare a engine from 2000 with one for a game that was released what? 2 months ago? as penguin said, big big difference. look how far we have come, way to much of a tech gap to compare em. its like trying to compare teh first IBM systems and a gaming rig today. just doesn't work. also as stated, u want to get ai working online? make a close halo lookalike(but not so much taht u get sued by ms/bungie) in udk, source, or unity. unity being the easiest, udk being the best work-flow, and source being the most supported(thanks to steam thou steam ahs its own issues)

Dennis should have a thread title parser that deletes threads that have all the following words in the title: "can halo ce ai sync in multiplayer". Then I wouldn't have to regurgitate the same answer.

Edit: Halo CE will never have syncing ai.

I asked why they could sync multiplayer JC2. I never said or even hoped that because of JC2 syncing in multiplayer would mean syncing ai in Halo. Plus you shouldn't say anything if you won't answer my question. Since my question has already been answered there's no reason for you to post. Thank you and have a good day.

That's exactly what I was asking. The answer had to do with game engines. Case closed. No where in that question had to do with my thinking AI should sync. And the rules say you shouldn't post if you're not going to help.
