Cause you got a low resolution and what you said the the beginning of your message, only way to fix those or make them smaller is to adjust your resolution, I always have mine set to 1280x1024 and I don't see them

Just pop open a coca-cola bottle and enjoy playing the game like me. I didn't notice the edges at all until after 6 seconds. But before hand I never seen halo 1 have the jaged edges until I got halo custom edition back in 2006. Like odx said quit whining and just adjust your resolution. changed my resolution and it looks much better, although there is a slight framerate drop. framerate doesnt matter much to me, so thanks alot!

get a better monitor an video card, play at 1920x1200 and you won't notice anything. problem solved.
