just recently started modeling weapons into Halo CE but every weapon i do turns out like this...

when i create the model in 3DS max i basically create a plane and apply the texture to it. then i use the line tool to trace it then extrude polygons and copy in x axis then attach them together and UVW map.

anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Flip the polygons. In editable mesh you select polygons (4) and select all of them. Then press the flip button in the... somewhere.

just tried that and it didn't work, still seems to implode on itself :(
