i really need some help here i downloaded halo 1 and the halo ce from this site and i was told i needed to download a patch and i did so and i had to open it for some sort so the cdrom req isn't appearing and some other stuff butt it says i haven't installed halo 1 and i did help plz?

get your CD and install halo again.

Uh, maybe he downloaded HCE from this site and just said Halo 1?
Reinstall halo from this site , run the patches 1.07 , 1.08 and 1.09.
Run them in that order.

he clearly says that he downloaded halo 1 and CE. i know that it's torrented because i had the same problem. CE won't install on a torrented version.

so i seriously need to buy halo 1? and a link for the 1.07patch i dunno if i have the right 1

How about we just put it this way. Your a pirate and don't deserve to play because you are a cheap that wouldn't spend a lousy $20 for the real game! Go to Wal-mart and buy it.

Yes, you need to buy Halo 1.
No buy, no online play.

You might still be able to find it at Wal Mart or something, I still can.
Also, with luck you can get a good copy off of eBay or Amazon or a used game store, but the problem is I don't know if you can return a game simply because your CD key was banned or something... I dunno. Might be able to return if there is no CD key at all, though.
The good thing about buying now, new or used, is that chances are it'll be in the bargain bin and it'll only cost you some 4 or 5 bucks, if that.

Other than that, you're outta luck.

Also, when you buy it, you will need the 1.09 patch. That one is the latest.
It also means you do not need the CD in the drive to play it.

It was developed by Gearbox Software the company that developed the Halo PC retail version of the game. You can obtain the Halo CE (Custom Edition) game and custom maps from http://www.halomaps.org. The Halo CE game is designed to use custom content. The editing kit allows you to create custom maps.

In order to install the Halo CE (Custom Edition) game you MUST own a copy of the Halo PC Retail version of the game and have the CD Product Key number which is printed on the yellow sticker labeled "Product Key". If you do not have the correct Halo PC CD Key you will not be able to install or run the game. Installing the Halo CE game will not affect or change your Halo PC Game they can both run on the same computer.

If you wish to join a server running a custom map you must have the map that the server is running already installed.

Best buy has halo 1 for 20 bucks. Just picked up 2 copy for some friends last week.

Even if you don't have the CD any longer , as long as you have bought a CD Key , you can play.
