Ok so me and a buddy are working on a map, This map takes place on a moon and the elite have set up a dome for h2o. So my question really is what do you think about this covenant structure and how detail or what can I change to make it look better? To me it seems kinda blah. cant post pictures cause I just joined a few days ago. Here is a link to my photobucket picture. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a236/sirroderick/base-1.jpg

Do you know how to use smoothing groups? Covenant stuff should have a rounded feel i think. If you add the right smoothing to what you have then it might look more covie, imo.

Yeah I realize the smoothing factor but there is no sense in smoothing right now because I am still adding detail. Model, detail, smooth, texture. Thats how I model.

The spires on the top look more Forerunner. Covenant architecture has a more organic fluid feel. The shapes curve and flow to a dimension outside of what we feel is a normal human function. I like the design, but it looks more forerunner. Quote:

Not only what dennis said, but you have different forms of covenant modeling going on there. Try to stick to a certain style of covenant, and not do every type of it.
Also, Make the ramps flow more, instead of being just flat.

add some small details to the flat walls and, i may be wrong, but that hanger looks like it will actually be too small to get the banshee out. even if the model fits right now, ingame it may be tighter than it appears.

I just double checked and the can slide in and out of the hanger with alot of room on the sides and top. I have added a little more detail on the sides and the top
