Anyone ever get this? I fixed the problem by deleting the unwrap UVW, but does anyone know what this is? I didn't have anything done yet so it was no big deal this time. If that happens again I don't want to have to delete the unwrap.

Which version of 3DS Max are you using?

If it's not 2010, then the error has been corrected in 3ds Max 2010.

"When applying the Shell Modifier to an object with deleted faces, 3ds Max/3ds Max Design presented the following error: “Object ‹object name› has a mesh with invalid texture vertex indices - can't render.” This issue has been corrected."

The bolded part however is what might have caused the error to appear on your end.

Well, I am using 2010, and I didn't use the shell modifier so I don't know why it displayed that.
