One day I was playing HCE and everything was fine. Then I come back the next day and it wouldn't run. So I reinstalled it. It still didn't work. I reinstalled regular Halo AND HCE and it gave me a "Please insert correct CD-ROM" message. I tried regular Halo and it worked. What the heck is going on? Please help!!!

how far does it get? do get the splash screen, main menu, what?
did you add any maps, they might be corrupt. |

Patch the game to 1.08 or 1.09 to legally disable the CD check.

To answer Sleepy, it shows a little halo splash picture and then says the error. Nothing more.

Nothing more. during the splash the game is checking for maps. if you have corrupted maps in your folder it won't load. take out all of your maps except the stock ones>run halo... if not then overwrite those by reinstall. if that doesn't work there's a DL for uncorrupted .maps out there somewhere, gbx maybe. |
