Just ran Halo CE 1.09 and there are currently 34 players online and 71 servers up and running.
Now I'm very curious how many of you still play Halo CE?
Also some other questions about your game:
Are you on version 1.09 or still an older version and if so why?
What are your favorite servers on CE?

Well first of all there are more than that many playing. If you don't have a certain map and people are playing on that map, you won't be able to see that map. You can only see servers running the maps you personally have.

That's not true, you can easily filter this.
I turned my filter off to show user-created maps (maps you don't have), so I'm 100% sure these are all the people online atm.

So what version do you play?

Majority of the players are on 1.06 , with 1.5k players , 1.07 and 1.08 have a handful , and 1.09 has about 250 on a good day.

im pretty sure most of the 1.06 players got they're halo illegally. >.>

I play it a daily basis. I play on all versions too, and I have 2 legal copys of the game.

I play a few times a week. Usually I'll jump in a match after a test a build.

theres a 1.06? where might i find this? i can never find any good servers anymore

lol! I guess so. I just know for me I filter it to only show maps I have since there is no point in seeing the others.
The way I see it is I know enough people who play Halo CE that if I want to have a good game started I just PM them on xfire and get one going. Otherwise I just join hurtlocker server or POQ zombies. Zombies is REALLY getting old though.

By the way, he looked for player's at 5 in the morning. I know that there's different time zones, but the majority of people actually playing 1.09 are probably on the east coast. I would be asleep during then :X and not to mention, other time zones would be probably be asleep too. I normally see around 150 people during the day, on 1.09 at least. Go to 1.00 or 1.06 and your going to get over a 1000 sometimes.

I haven't played for about 8 months now,
but I still like popping in once in a while to see what's going on...

i've had the best results having gamenights, other than that i really don't play...it's kind of pointless.

I don't play on HCE online anymore. I use dev. Only in Halo PC I go on sometimes. I get bored because I'm always 1st or 2nd.

I last played Halo Custom Edition online a couple months ago. But the only map that I had played for the past year and a half, other than private beta tests, had been Bloodgulch. Because there's usually just rp maps and zombies on anything else.

I haven't come across one zombie server on 1.08, and I wanna play zombies :( Are they on a different version?

i tried version changer but when i tried changing to 1.06 there was no one there. the only version that had people was 1.09 w/ 200 people.

nobody plays 1.08 lol

Can someone explain to me why so many people stick to older version instead of updating to 1.09?

Because

1) Older versions have more players,
2) More apps work on them
3) Arrrrrrr! Surendar the booty and prepar to be borded!!!

mostly alot of people on the previous versions use hacks, time freeze, and everysingle app out there basicaly. to learn more about halo apps go to the halo CE maps page and scrool down untill you see halo CE apps. there you can download some.

Any way how does version changer work. i put it in my CE folder. but when i got to CE i type Version 1.06 but theres no one there. Am i doing somthing wrong?

I've been in over 30 different 1.00 servers and nobody cheats...

The original halo PC has so many more players than custom. Shotgun matches and Heavy Weapons galore. Theres also a few dedicated Blood Gulch Sniping maps.
