I have just map a map but the problem is that when i try to test it out I don't spawn and the message "Waiting For Space To Clear" comes up. I have map sure all the player starting positions are not near and objects.
Any Idea's on what the problem could be?

they are too close to objects or too close together or possibly you only placed one team index.

go back into sapien and see if any of the spawns have red x's next to them, delete those and replace, if there are none, replace them anyway and save scenario.

Also make sure that your spawn points are available for all gametypes while testing unless you want them for specific types like Slayer or Race only.

Yes, I have done all of that stuff but i still don't spawn. Do you know anyone i could give my scenario to so they could have a look at it or fix it? I even followed a Tutorial that i know works (I made my first map with it that worked fine) and it still didn't work. There are no red crosses next to them and they are out in the open. I also checked the team indexes were right.
I don't know what else i can do.

set your flags higher by 0.5 or 1 this shoud do it. This use to happen to me all the time.
example- if the flag is at a level of 0.667 make it 1.2 ish. remember to set both flags.

Yes, i raised the flags but that didn't work, how do i attach a link so u can get my map lol?

I believe he just wants you to upload it to halomaps.
Use this link to upload your map:

Then give us the link to your map, just search for the name you provided in your readme to find it on the site. It may take abit for it to be uploaded.

dont upload it to halomaps :\

zip it up with winrar and upload it to 4shared or filefront or something. then copy and paste the link.

make sure you include any shaders, bitmaps, bsp, any custom tags that make the scenario work because i'm not spending hours locating tags to load this scenario.

Sleepy, on the link should take you to the file, it is called 'Salient for Sleepy1212'. (by the way my maps called Salient). If there are any problems with the files in there just tell me, all the tags and bitmaps\Models should be there. Let me know if anything is missing.
Also you will find that in the names of the folders it has the directory address to let you know where to put each 'Salient' folder. Just remember to take away the address and any other info in the name so it will work when you put it into you Halo CE directory.

E: there's nothing wrong with the spawns. i compiled the map and played it just fine. as far as i can tell in sapien the only real issue there is that they're unbalanced teams. there was a few issues though...

for one you've got some tag problems. i couldn't move the camera without exceptioning out. probably related to the bad particle tag for the creep vehicles plasma thing. the error was something about a nonlinear alpha in the smoke_white_c_generic.particle tag.

i suggest getting rid of all the custom tags and try making a map with stock ones that work right -before you try anything more complicated.

second...grrr, you gave me no shaders which is fine because you just reused tutorial tags but its a bad idea to keep doing that. you didn't give me your globals.globals tag so none of the custom vehicles loaded. no biggie there.

like i said, keep it simple. walk, then run.

just a point about sharing files like scenarios, which have a lot of tags involved. make things simple for the people you're giving them to. i spent over an hour trying to sort out debug messages about the dysfunctional tag setup you have. mine's crazy too but there's a simple way to make it easy on others:

first, make a folder named "tags". then, in that folder, recreate the directory of all the tags you want to send for example if i was to sent you a scenery file i would set it up like this...

create "tags" -open
create "scenery" -open
paste in scenery file that contains all it's contents.
the directory would then look like this as i open the folders in order

tags\scenery\scenerythingy.

compress and send.

then all the next person has to do is drop the tags folder into their CE directory and viola! *profit*.

oh and for your sake when using 4shared, they'll give you link for the download. don't give out the link for your account. give them the other one. otherwise you might get your stuff leaked and have to make a post asking dennis to take it off. that's retarded and you don't want to be retarded now do you? PS he won't.

Thanks i heap, i'm sorry about the tags and not giving you the globals, just after I uploaded all the tags and my map i thought about but then forgot lol.

I have a feeling that there might be some problems with my globals and also don't worry about the leak because i will take the file off 4Share and I don't think anyone would like my map anyway lol.
I also noticed the problem's with the creep and sapien told me about how the smoke would never draw and stuff, but i just wanted to see if it would work, sorry. But i do plan to remove all the faulty tags.

Also a big thanks for telling me how to share all my dysfunctional tags and i'm sorry about all the trouble you had to go through to sort them all out.

I will try re-compile my map and fix my globals, I will also take your advice to walk before i run.

Um sorry for not saying anything for ages but i went on holidays lol, so I could't really work on my map, umm...... on my 4shared account my stuffed up tags are there if you want to have a look at them and see how i stuffed up.

Just remember if you replace your globals with mine make sure you back yours up.
