Hi I'm trying to make a beam emitter scenery. I got the model from here http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1321. I textured it and exported it but when I try to make the collision tool says there is a million open edges. How do I fix it?

looks like that model has no bottom (because its designed to go on a bsp).
In max you need to create new faces for the bottom ( i am assuming there is no bottom).
also it wouldnt hurt to weld all verts at a value of 0.01
