Okay im making a skin & I made a multi-map bitmap with all it needs, but i dont know how to fix the alpha so the multi-map will have transprency. Okay here ive went to mi Photoshop & made a layer called Alpha 1 & edited the alpha there, but when i run in tool it ses "Cannot handle 5 channel bitmaps"(sumthin like that) but any1 who knows the solution please PM me or post it here in the thread. Please & thankyou.
EDIT: well to sum it all up, How do you get proper alphas through tool for in-game transparency? Edited by Shade117 pro on Sep 28, 2009 at 08:22 AM

i think, (but not sure) that after you compile the bitmap once, open it up in guerilla and save it as interpolated alpha (or something like that). then compile again

you have alpha on more than one layer. tool won't compile it that way.
E: to answer your question...limit your bitmap to one alpha mask...even if you've already flattened the other layers with alpha before hand it won't work.if you need varying transparencies in the image you have to do it in the same mask. do that and when you first compile it will give you the "...DXT1" message. open guerilla, open that bitmap, second pull down select 32 -bit. save, recompile in tool.
E2: somehow skipped veex's post...never tried that, sounds promising...try it first. Edited by sleepy1212 on Sep 28, 2009 at 12:38 PM

A multi map doesnt need transparency. The only thing the alpha is used for in a Multipurpose map is for color change.
