Hey guys.. I'm just wondering.. How many people/servers are there on CE these days? I don't have the game on my computer at the moment, let alone know if it still works.. So I can't really check myself. I've just been itching to take a drive around Bacons Racetrack again since I heard about ODST.

And Dennis is probably thinking... "Oh no.. Not this guy again..." If he still remembers me.. :)

well lets just say it was bigger when you were on. we probably get 2,000 players a day. and for pc 8,000

December second , two thousand and five. I'd say he forgot you.
CE in total has about 2,000 players , 1,500 on version 1.00 , 500 on 1.07 and 1.08.
1.00 is a pirate server.
For PC we get up to 12,000 a day at it's peak.

Isn't there some way to force everyone into 1.08 like an automatic update for those who own the game legally

No , the game they download is completly different , they dont get it here at halomaps and then tweak it , they download one already prepared like that , so they use a keygen , and play. They're totally different. If you tried updating while on a 1.00 copy of the game , it tells you you're already updated.

You could just use Version Changer or have different EXE's for each version of the game.

Hmm, I think someone should release an 1.08 version of the game pirated so all of us honest people at least get to play with more people

Why should the illegal people get to play on our 1.08 servers? The legal people should get the EXE's for the other verisons of the game to play on the other servers, since we paid for it.

Or Bungie could get the 1.00 server and shut it down and say if you have a legal version you must upgrade to 1.08 to play

Gamespy owns the servers, not Bungie.

Halo Custom Edition would lose 1,500 players instantly. We can play with them using version changer.

Ahh... The cheapskates on the pirated version. That's not good for the people who actually buy the game. But.. As long as we honest people own the game.. We ARE legally allowed to download this "Pirated" version. We already have access to legal copies of that data, so by law we can get it anywhere else we want.

And as for him not remembering me... Back then the forums weren't overloaded with people.. So it was quieter at times then it seems now. Well.. That, and me and this other guy (Armageddon or something like that.) always used to argue about everything and get into these big internet fights/raise hell. Ah... Those were the days. Got to love remembering immaturity. :P
