This is my first shot at the directory i'm putting in a current project tentatively called "Sea Lab". I thought about using it on glass (hence the turquoise background) but my attempts to alpha channel with gimp have failed miserably. any other ideas? I could really use some..thanks!

thanks, it's actually a screen of the wireframe from front. the entire bsp will actually be much larger but it's just for effect. most the gameplay will be inside the structure in the pic while the outside will be accessible only by vehicle...something custom and submarine-like. the basic idea is an underwater facility hanging from a giant sheet of sea ice.
inside the concourse will be a sign...kind of like the maps in the mall...(directories)..that's what the pic is for.

To alpha chanel in gimp, right click the layer and select add layer mask, then click layers alpha chanel. In the mask, make everything you want to see white, everything you want invisible black. If you want something transparent, make it gray (expiriment with what shade of gray you want, so It will simulate glass).
