The name says it all, on multiple occasions I have downloaded vehicle tags from HaloMaps and placed the files in what I thought were the correct location but when I try to use them in Sapien it give me errors and no vehicle will appear.

The current one I am trying to get working is MotherGoats Wasp tags, and any help would be much appreciated.

you can put them anywhere in the tags folder really...the trick is getting guerilla to reference the right file path.

when i get new tags i place them anywhere in the tags folder, open them up in guerilla and see what file path is referenced, then i put the files in the right places. i do this because not all DLed tags have the same filepaths as others of their type.

I'm probably not looking at the right thing, but it appears to me that everything is referencing the proper files, so I'm not sure what is up with it.

Have you looked to make sure that all the boxes have no red text in them. Sometimes it could be something small like a bitmap in a wrong spot.

Check the tag folder references. That's where the tags go.

yea, if they don't all read tags\vehicles\"tag" then they're referenced to a different folder, look at any of the boxes and see what the file path is.

for example a BR version i used doesn't go "tags\weapons\battle_rifle" like other weapons do; it goes "tags\halo2\weapons\battle rifle\battle_rifle.weapon". all the other tags referenced for the BR have the same file-path "tags\halo2\weapons\battle rifle\"...ALL of them.

if you can't figure it out tell me which vehicle you're trying to use and i'll try and set one up for you so you can use it easily.

so he did so he did. kk then gimme some time :D

E:

ok i don't need to reorganize anything its real simple:

1: put the "wasp" folder into the "tags/vehicles" folder, go to globals.globals and fix that too
2: put the "cyborg.animations" tag just in "tags" folder
3: open up "tags/sounds/sfx/vehicles" and see if there is a tag called "pelican_engine.sound_looping". if not copy the "banshee_engine.sound_looping" and rename it "pelican_engine.sound_looping" and place it in the same folder (i didn't have this tag so that's what i did, wasp will sound like banshee..oh well...).
4: place in sapien, compile, play

E2: it places fine, no exceptions...doesn't show up in game for some reason...i'll have to look into it some more :/

What am I fixing in the Globals? When I added the Wasp vehicle it would no longer open Sapien, also which folder should the sound loop be dropped into.

Thanks for helping me out.

no problem :)

go into your globals tag (globals.globals) and find the vehicle list. delete one from that list and add the wasp in it's place, click the "..." and choose wasp_mp.vehicle. save. you have to do this any time you use a custom vehicle because you're only allowed to have 6 vehicle types at any one time.

the sound loop should be in the same folder as the other one, the banshee one i told you to copy. you don't have to move it just copy and paste it right where it is and rename it pelican_engine.

next, go into tags\characters\cyborg and copy the cyborg.animations tag to another folder..anywhere is fine it's just a backup. put the cyborg.animations tag that came with the wasp into the original animation tag's place.

in sapien make sure to check all 8 of the multiplayer flags slayer/ctf/king/oddball default and slayer/ctf/king/oddball allowed.

The globals only have to be changed while I'm working on a map? Once it's built into a .map file I'm good to go right?

right, you can change it back after the map file has been compiled..or..you could make a copy of it like you did the animations tag and just keep it as a backup.

Thanks sleepy got it working and have been having a blast on the map I created. Wasp/Banshee dogs fights are pretty damn intense.
