Lol it's always fun to get people that take the game too serious on live. Thats part of the reason I am still on Halo CE is because unlike Halo 3 multiplayer its much more relaxing and layed back just like a game should be.

oh yeah the Havok engine is awesome and Halo 3 is pretty epic it has some flaws of course but every game does so it's not that big a deal. Also theres forge which is cool I just wish Bungie had made the controls a bit easier.

The fact that the only way you can play a game is through matchmaking or the off chance that you see a friend in a custom game kind of limits what you can do in it though, unfortunately.
I said it before and I'll say it again, the game would be infinitely better with a custom games browser.

Havok is only a physics engine, not the actual graphics engine.

Havok is just the physics engine, its been used on many games, not just Halo.
Blam IS the actuall engine the whole game uses, and its been used since halo 1 (obviously they have improved the engine)

Quote: --- Original message by: MasterRyan Matchmaking sounds cool to me! It works for ranked matches, as it gives everybody an equal opportunity, but when it comes to just messing around you'll find that a server browser would be much more ideal. Otherwise you'll likely be stuck playing some crap gametype on a level you don't like very much. Oh, and you lose points if you quit out. Even in an unranked game. With all the custom games and forge options, a server browser would be put to some very, very good use. Edited by Marka Haiyana on Sep 4, 2009 at 07:54 PM

only halo 2 and 3 use Havok, but they don't use it very well in Halo 2, as the only times you can tell are movable boxes and death animations, but Halo 3 uses Havok fully!

I REALLLY wish I had Halo 3, or just could play it once :( You could always go to a friends house and play it, or just buy it yourself... My friend and I use to play it all the time. Then suddenly, he started making excuses about not coming over so we can play Halo 3. He even says that he is bored of Halo 3. I think he's trying to tell you he doesn't like you anymore. Or he's cheating on you.

Afterwards, he just says a bunch of excuses and doesn't like playing Halo 3 anymore, however, he's pre-ordering the Halo 3 ODST game so idk. If he doesn't like it anymore you could buy it off him, then all you need is a 360.

Get an assassin, and hes bound to reply, if the guy does his work right. Nevertheless, someone should start with the other parts he likely hasnt modelled yet, or the weapons and vehicles, as well as the scenery, so you don't waste any effort if he's done with the BSP.

Just to clarify some things. A physics engine like havok is a self contained component of a game engine. I guess you could call it an engine but it is a small part of the whole. Basically you initialize it and create instances of it's classes in doing this you use the classes as portals to pass it values. It gives you back a position in space where the object should be. All this is done 60 times a second making the objects appear to be moving.

If you would like to see what im talking about play with this^
I made it awhile ago but it demonstrates physics very well.

I do agree that High Ground is very high detail If it's the most detailed I can't really say. The point is though that it is correct that if it was put in Halo CE it wouldn't look as good as it does in Halo 3 but I don't think thats a problem really as long as it's a good map I don't care about the detail really.
