Who is with me on this? Whenever I see someones model, take yoyorastv2 for example, it looks infinitely better than it would in game. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know but, it seems when anyone puts it in game the whole model is ruined by the texture used on it.
Anyone else seem to see this issue?

It's really a matter of what textures and shaders are applied to it and if the person knows what there doing. Halo CE is also and older engine, and dosen't have many... good looking assests in the engine to help maps look good as a render in 3dsmax or Unreal.

See, I would rather play Extinction, Death Island, Blood Gulch, YoYorast, and CMT PBV2 with no added textures, just gray. I would like everything just gray.

Halo engine isn't as appealing as it used to be for me, textures look horrid in it for me. When ever I play a map I look and see how stretched the grass is. A blade of grass shouldn't be 3 feet thick. This thread kinda shows my hate for it.

Things in 3ds max WILL look 10 times better than they would in game engines. As long as the 3ds max render is setup the same as the games is, like the lighting and everything.
1. Because game engines compress textures. 2. rendering applications are more poweful than game engines because game engines have to render real time, 3ds max doesn't.
Also, the reason grass blades are so big is because the person who made the map is a tard and doesn't know what grass looks like. Its not Halo, its the map maker.

So my complaints are now totally unnullified. BTW Tf2 has more requirements than Halo Res:1024x768 RR: 75hz No Vsync Specular- Yes Shadow- Yes Decals- Yes Particles- High Texture- High If that helps you understand... Yeah, they just take detail_grass and slap it on a shader without making a proper bitmap with a proper shader. Btw, Donut said HALO not TF2 Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Aug 17, 2009 at 10:38 PM

(hint: look for deehunter's topic named "Anisotropic Filtering")

Problem is that the CE community seems to have waaay more people who can model than it does people who can texture, so a lot of maps just get default textures slapped on and look horrible.

If you are complaining about the graphics on a game like this, then you should srsly gtfo, go play crysis if you want some good graphics, instead of crying about it on here.
