So my step dad gave me his old PC. It has Vista home premium on it. I was wondering can it run Halo CE, and possibly halo 2 vista at decent frame rates? I obviously plan on upgrading the PC. RAM, new video card, ect. But right now, will it be able to run Halo CE just fine? The reason why I'm asking is because of vista. Since it is such a resource hog. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883114029

That thing's worse than my one year old laptop :\
It should run Halo CE, but I have doubts about H2V.

What i would do in this situation is get an XP iso, format the hardrive(make sure you know what your doing, be sure to BACKUP FIRST), install XP, do all the updates for it, get all the drivers, go get a new video card, more ram, and watch it fly).
Personally i would install linux on it, and then run xp in something called virtual box, but thats just me.

the amount of video ram a gpu has doesn't really tell us the performance. Also, that cpu is a piece of trash.
