i open sapein and try to looad a map and it sapien or ahobo has stopped working then it closes it? why is this?

Go to your Halo Custom Edition folder, and find debug.txt. Copy the last paragraph, and paste it here.

I think this comes from not having access to modifying the map. The solution I found was to delete your tags folder, and recursively extract all the tags from the map.

No. It'll just replace the tags installed with HEK. If you don't want to delete your tags folder, you can do this:
1) Rename your tags folder to tags.old 2) Uninstall HEK 3) Reinstall HEK 4) Recursively extract the maps 5) Try to open 6) Once it opens, move your tags back into your new tag folder one by one |
