The Halo CE Chronicles - The Ring of Life

The Ring of Life, the latest in the Halo CE Chronicles saga, tells the story of station Commander Harrington, Andrea the AI and a company of marines marooned in the very first Ring World found by man. Part one of this six part story opens with the commander and the marines apparently at odds. Not all is what it seems. The Ring of Life will be released once a week over the next six weeks. Great Job Dennis, it was fun to watch. Also, you did a great job modding H2 Coag to "remove" the bases.

...at least I thought it was Halo 2 Coagulation. Maybe I'm wrong?

the voice acting was great and it pulled me in from the start, i cant wait for the next one, let alone the rest to come. what did you use to edit it? you made great use of music, as well. its a shame that the marine mouths aren't as flexible as they could be.
Also, was that all animation/command list/scripts? it was done very well.

You weren't wrong. The map without the bases was donated for the project by the CMT team.

This has the amazing quality of a professional machinima. Whilst there are some failings from the engine, it is still fantastic, and has a compelling story. I'd love to see what you could do with something as halo 3 CE (I'm being hypothetical)

Do i need to watch the other season to understand whats going on or will it make sens if i cut in on this season?

cause i watched the first 10 episodes of it and never got into it. But this one looks better.

i believe that this one is completely different, so watching the other series doesnt effect the plot at all.

Not really. The opening monologue pretty much sums up what you need to know about the previous stories. I knew this season would debut to people who didn't know the history so it was written and produced with that in mind. The eariler stories season 2, season 3 and the comic would give you a complete background on all the characters but they aren't necessary to watch this one.

What you really want to watch is season 2 - episodes 10-21 for the real back-story. The first 9 episodes were experimental before I actually started writing a full storyline and really weren’t up to par with the following seasons.

Dennis, I know you don't wanna hear this from me but as of editing and filming your team is getting ALOT better. Last one was unbearable because of the shaky camera. But this is a huge step up and I like it alot.

Oh and a few things

- PLEASE remove that young voice actor. It was hard to take him seriously
-Color correct a bit more? Only because some scenes seamed really drained out and could use some more saturation.
-The voices...oh the voices. Add some distortion to them, and if not that try to lower their volume abit because they seemed like they were slapped on. The quality is great but their audio levels need work.

If you ever need an editor (I know you're not my biggest fan lol) just ask. Because I would love to voice for this

This whole sereis has been purposely done using only free software with the exception of GameCam which was $24.00. I have the Adobe suite that I use when editing or correcting client's videos, but the HCEC mission was specifically to show what could be done with free or near to free software.

Well, that's kind of foolish since it doesn't truly allow you to improve, or until another series. And I forget his name. For freeware it was great, but I am sure you could have spiced up the color a bit.

LOL, You just don't get it. I guess I can't expect you to. I don't approach these things like you and so many others in this forum do. I finish things BEFORE I talk about them or show them. I am comfortable with my decisions regardless of whether you think them good or bad and have made choices based on my opinions and available time and not turned to the community for validation during the creation process. People are free to like or dislike the videos and the story for whatever reason they wish. Of course I hope they like them but beyond like or dislike their other opinions are frankly irrelevant. This is not a work in progress.

Also as for the “young” people in the video: I can safely say that the entire cast is more than 2-5 times older than the average user in this forum.

Average cast age means nothing. What if I had a movie with all 21 year olds and then threw in a 5 year old, kinda like you're scenario.

Anyway, I guess I will just watch these likes a mindless zombie now and stop trying to help. I mean I don't know anything. It's not like I'm sponsored by machinima.
