I've downloaded couple maps but i don't know how to play them. So how do i play them? thanks. (i'm a newbie lol)

put them in C:\Program Files\Halo Custom Edition\maps

Start up Halo Custom Edition. If it's a multiplayer map, it'll appear in the multiplayer game lobby.

Welcome to halo CE,

Go to the halo CE maps link above this page and then in the search box type Halo Custom Edition. Then you will download the file and have halo CE. when you download the game it only comes with the classic maps so you have to download others to play on if you want to. after downloading the maps go to your halo Custom Editon folder and paste the map file in the folder maps. oh and you will need to have Halo Combat Evolved PC downloaded and installed on your pc you have Halo CE on. If you ever download any SP maps (single Player) to acses the map you need to type Map_name (insert name here) w/ out perentheses. if you also get curious about map making you will need to download Halo Editing Kit. the fille is about the same size as halo CE. HEK comes ith many files Gurilla Spaien and tool. with those files you can customize your own mod of a map. but in order to make a new and completley map and weappons and vehicles. you will need Gmax or 3dsmax. 3dsmax costs money so i would just stick with Gmax. once in Gmax or 3dsmax you can model a map of you'r very own creation. and if you want you can make customized weapons and even vehicles too. and don't forget about scenery. going back to Sapien though. if you ever played halo 3 and played forge mode. well Sapien is basicaly the same. you have a list of weapons and scenery and vehicles and everything you can out in a map. Basicly one you have selcted the item from you'r list you can click any where in the map and it sets it there. its very simple to mod a map but even harder to make one. but go ahead we need more map modders. So enjoy Halo CE!

Oh P.S make sure you know what your doing. positively. It took me like a mounth to put maps in the right folder without assitince.

You put in your registration code that you got with your legal copy of Halo 1.

The Halo CE (Custom Edition) game is a free stand-alone program for registered users of the Halo PC game. It was developed by Gearbox Software the company that developed the Halo PC retail version of the game. You can obtain the Halo CE (Custom Edition) game and custom maps from http://www.halomaps.org. The Halo CE game is designed to use custom content. The editing kit allows you to create custom maps.

In order to install the Halo CE (Custom Edition) game you MUST own a copy of the Halo PC Retail version of the game and have the CD Product Key number which is printed on the yellow sticker labeled "Product Key". If you do not have the correct Halo PC CD Key you will not be able to install or run the game. Installing the Halo CE game will not affect or change your Halo PC Game they can both run on the same computer.

If you wish to join a server running a custom map you must have the map that the server is running already installed.
