It changes permutations. Such as the backpack weapons script. It changes the permutation thats on your back/side depending on what weapon you have.

Also, lets say theres an door made of a kind of energy field with a switch that activates/deactivates it.
If you hit the switch, the script can make the energy field change to its "off" permutation. And hitting it again will change the energy field to its "on" permutation.

The permutations apply both to the collision and gbxmodel tags.

(object_set_permutation) is the devcode. I don't have the parameters right now, but you can't use it unless you know the name of the perms, and other things. It's more of a scripting command than a devcode, because it's nigh impossible to use if you don't have access to the biped in Guerilla.
