Ripping AI messes them up alittle bit. There is a newer HEK+ around here somewhere that ripped them properly.

The "newer HEK+" is actually the predecessor to HEK+. I still prefer ripping tags using HEK+, and modifying them later on. That way, I have an incentive to improve the intelligence level of my AI.

Improve Intellegence? How so? They're AI. They're supposed to be dumb. Hmm. I figured it out, got the AI in the map... How do you make them attack as soon as they see you? I set all their behaviors to "Moving Randomly"

How much fun is it to see AI running command lists in the middle of Blood Gulch, with no obvious signs of intelligence? Also, I lol'd. Quote: --- Original message by: HogdriverOneFiveFive Improve Intellegence? How so? They're AI. They're supposed to be dumb. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. They're meant to have some degree of intelligence, and not be the "dumb puppets" that you mindlessly kill over and over. Nothings fun without a challenge. And by smarter AI, I don't mean aimbotting. I mean AI that take cover, that dodge more, that hold their ground when it's a viable option, and retreat when everything else is lost.

I use firing positions and platoons to make AI maneuver around more often. Most AI mods make use of command lists. That completely destroys any intelligence the AI might have, by forcing them to follow. Firing positions, guarding at guard position, and (ai_magically_see_encounter) combine to create smarter AI, or the illusion of smarter AI. You can still improve their firing patterns, and target tracking / leading to make them aim better, and fire in a different matter. I've created two "classes" of AI. Support AI, which usually have Rocket Launchers and Sniper Rifles, which hang back from the battle, providing covering fire. The other class is Assault AI, which fight the enemy in closer range. Assault Rifle marines tend to provide supporting fire, while marines with SMGs engage the enemy in close range.

For the covenant, they shouldn't be able to retreat. The Covenant never retreat, even when they're all gonna die.

I beg your pardon. The Covenant have retreated before, if you've read the books. When they do, it's to preserve the surviving forces, and to reinforce them for a bigger assault.
