Okay,I tried opening a scenario file, and sapien just opens and closes incredibly quickly,I uninstalled hek and reinstalled it,and now it doesnt work at all anymore. I uninstalled it to attempt to get singleplayer maps to work, and now mp maps don't even work.. I tried opening bloodgulch, then timberland, and they both give me the same debug error: Edited by deadlyfighter1000 on May 31, 2009 at 05:32 PM

I think I know why. =3 Are you using Vista? If yes, or even no, try going to the properties of Sapien and changing the compatibility to Windows 98 or NT, and then check the bottom three disablers in the compatibility thing.

http://files.filefront.com/tagsrar/;13736881;/fileinfo.html Download. This contains all tags for SP maps, and it works. Kudos to Vick Jr. for uploading it. This also includes the tutorial scenario. Once done downloading, delete your tags folder, and put this in it's place. If you still can't open anything, then 1) Your computer is screwed up 2) You're doing something wrong.

Doesn't work...and it isn't my computer..Is there anything special I have to do to allow it to work? Ok,I don't know if this is a problem or not..but when my I open my debug, all it does is start out with the error, nothing before saying sapien started up or anything,so it looks like this:
06.02.09 19:34:36 EAX: 0x00000000 06.02.09 19:34:36 EBX: 0x00000040 06.02.09 19:34:36 ECX: 0x00000000 06.02.09 19:34:36 EDX: 0x00000000 06.02.09 19:34:36 EDI: 0x0012EDE0 06.02.09 19:34:36 ESI: 0x0012F310 06.02.09 19:34:36 EBP: 0x0012F1BC 06.02.09 19:34:36 ESP: 0x0012EDC4 06.02.09 19:34:36 EIP: 0x00417E20, 8B 01 8B 96 ????? 06.02.09 19:34:36 7C816FE7 ????? 06.02.09 19:34:36 00751B18 ????? 06.02.09 19:34:36 004F8200 ????? 06.02.09 19:34:36 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
But when I open up guerilla,it shows this:
06.02.09 19:51:43 guerilla pc 01.00.00.0609 ---------------------------------------------- 06.02.09 19:51:43 reference function: _write_to_error_file 06.02.09 19:51:43 reference address: 4011a4 06.02.09 19:51:43 Couldn't read map file './guerillabeta.map'

I think you should try this....
1. Run the uninstaller of HEK. Make sure your uninstallation is complete. 2. delete the following folders and files: a) tags (the folder itself) b) data (the folder itself) c) guerilla.cfg (the file) d) sapien.config (the file) e) debug.txt (the file) f) tag_dump.txt (the file) g) as well as any other files and folders related to kornman and a hobo if you use them.
3. install HEK again, with as minimal background programs as possible (to prevent them from interfering with the install process), as well as kornam or a hobo if you use them.
Try this, it usually works for me. Since the tags and data folders may be the cause of your problems, deleting them before uninstalling HEK would be better than leaving them in place. Do not try to restore a backup of your tags folder, as it may bring back your problems. I am sorry, you would have to re-rip your tags again, but that is the only option.
btw, pls reply, otherwise we wouldn't know whether you have solved your problem.

I tried your idea,and it didn't work..and I don't have a sapien.config file...if that may be the problem,and even when I re-installed it I still don't have it.

maybe try re-downloading HEK and then reinstalling. Maybe some files became corrupt.

W00T!!! I solved the problem!!! Thanks guys, but the problem turned out to be Open Sauce...I deleted it and sapien loaded fine! I should probably post this on the OpenSauce forums,to let them know about this. Edited by deadlyfighter1000 on Jun 3, 2009 at 07:11 PM
