Why dosn't Tool like bungie texture tags which have spaces in the title. when i try to compile my map from the JMS file, for every texture that has a space, it want's me to specify what kind of texture it is like this:
building intermediate geometry... choose a type for the shader '"detail cliff rock"': 1. shader_enfironment 2. shader_model 3. shader_transparent_generic 4. shader_transparent_chicago 5. shader_transparent_chicago_extended 6. shader_transparent_water 7. shader_transparent_glass 8. shader_transparent_meter 9. shader_transparent_plasma choice (1-9):
and i've tryed it without the quotes when i exported it too.

Too lazy to type it up again, copyanpasteftw: Quote: --- Original message by: UnevenElefant5 Because "detail cliff rock" is not the name of a shader. You don't name it the name of the texture, you name it the name of the shader. It just happens that most of the names are the same. The reason "detail cliff rock" has no shader is because it is a detail map. You use detail maps in shader environments to make them look better. For example, "detail cliff rock" is used in the a30 shader. If you open levels\a30\shaders\cliff rock.shader_environment you can see how it uses detail maps. To fix the problem, just use a different texture that has a shader. Textures with "detail" in their name don't have their own shader because they are just integrated into shader_environments. You could make your own shader, but it would look bad. Edited by UnevenElefant5 on May 26, 2009 at 06:31 PM

Tool also does not except spaces as valid characters, use - or _ instead. ( _ is more reliable)

( _ is more reliable) I tryed those _ things. still couldn't get them to work so where do i find the .shader_environments that have the textures i want. i would just go to levels\...blah blah blah...\bitmaps for the textures. but they aperantly don't work. Detail cliff rock is a detail map, not the name of a shader. Tool is telling you that you don't have any shaders named that, and is asking what type of shader it should make for you.
