Well, today I pulled out one of my older games, and it happened to be Red Faction 2. I installed it on my PC, and went through the folder to check some things out. Then I noticed this.


Now all I need to do is figure out how to rip them. I got all the sounds, just ask me for them.

Just in case you don't know what game I am talking about.

ah.. well.. that's kinda lame lmao.
quite suprised though, since you said its an old game.. i would have thought that someone would have figured it out by now..

Or maybe there wasn't a demand for a ripper when Red Faction was popular.

Red Faction was a Console based game, then they ported to PC, which only supported Single Player and Bot Matches. I might be able to ask someone that used to play it with me, and did some crazy things with his Xbox version.

i didnt realize THQ could make an FPS, lol.

Some people from ID helped them, so it kinda looks like Quake.

E: Alright, I asked him, and he said ripping is possible, but the ripping tool he used to use got tore down after a site got DoSed, that was back in the day, so that was hard to avoid those kinds of things. Now I have to make my own .__.'

OKAY, sorry, I had to bump this topic.

Now, some progress on this project. I found a way I can at least see all the tags.

Red Faction II is the ONLY GAME that uses these files. So in order to see these tags, I must use this program: http://www.watto.org/extract/download.html

This Project is win! Ive never played any Red Faction games, but it does indeed look awesome.

Update: The tags "ARE" rippable. Once I can figure out how to Convert the models to .3ds or a .obj, either one of the 2, I will release a pack.

The only red faction I knew of was Geurilla, until i saw this thread, which is very intresting indeed

Wow, its surprising no one here has ever heard or seen Red Faction II, lol.

Anyways, I am having a little trouble, could someone help? I dont know what happened, but I was able to see all the tags in Game Extractor, and now I cant see them because it says I am missing plugins.

Ive played the Red Faction demo for the 360. Its higher quality than that one.

Yeah, possibly because this game is at least 4-5 Years old eh? It came out around about the time Halo did.
