i'm trying to have multiple textures on a single object. but when i use the UVW map to set the textures up right, have them look right, it does it for all the textures on the mesh. is there a way to only UVW map a single texture one way and the other texture another way.

You just select the material ID of the texture you want UV'd.

Are you using 3ds max or Gmax? anyway, while in editable mesh/poly mode, go into polygon selection. Scroll down to where you see "Select material ID" and type in the number of the desired mat id. Now go and apply your UVW mapping.

I used to have this problem. The map making tutorial kinda goes over this really quickly. When you finished UVW maping your first texture, right click on the map, and go to convert to editable mesh. You have to do this every time, even though it already is an editable mesh.
