I noticed while playing Winterfrost that if you try to stand on or near a rock, you start bouncing/glitching around. Something seems to not be syncing properly. Then in a map I'm working on, the same thing is happening. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

its nothing w/ the rock its self it just the rock is too fancy for your pc. try tuning down your graphics and specular. works for me all the time on maps that are fancy. XD
P.S: yes i said fancy

Interesting theory, there may be something to it but, I'm not the only one this happens to. I play with graphics low all the time. Interesting that it would be the rocks that are too fancy. None of the vehicles, not the trees, not the model, just the simple rocks. Also, this doesn't happen if I try the map locally, only if I try it on a LAN or internet server.

Same glitch happens to me, except on Halo PC. It's weird, and I'm also trying to figure out the problem.

Could be different rock permutations or something. I don't know if those sync or not.

UPDATE:
I tried a gametype without vehicles and the glitching was gone. Weird eh?

It's probably the rocks collision model.

That's another interesting theory but... it's a standard tag with HEK that seems to work fine in other maps. As said before, it's only when vehicles are enabled. I do have one custom vehicle tag ripped from another map, the Specter, I'm going to experiment removing that later.
Keep the ideas coming. Maybe we'll hit on something. ;)
UPDATE:
I just made another build of my map without the Specter and the glitchiness of the rocks is gone. Hmm... what could it be in that tag causing this mess? Edited by goye2cz on May 14, 2009 at 03:06 AM

that's odd....
from what i remember, i had the spectre(which i had ripped from a map that i had forgotten) in a map that i was working on (i forgot what it was). There were no such problems.
try re-ripping the spectre from another map, or try re-downloading it. maybe that would work....
