I am using Polamee’s Single Player tutorial but ran into a problem when tried to make HUD messages. I am not sure what I am doing wrong so can I have a more detailed explanation on this.

Its a common error. After you compile, close up Sapien. Check if tool created a hud_messgaes tag in your tags\levels\mapname directory. Re open sapien. Try to compile again.

I don't think Tool is creating a tag in my map directory. I just get this output from tool
Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

Besides, this is a common error, it means absolutely nothing.

True, it most usually means an incorrect file path Or bad tag.
Sometimes Tool++ gives back a blank sheet, that also means the tag you used or tried to create is dead.
