Is it possible to stop the overshield draining in MP?

Not really sure if it's possible to stop it from draining altogether, but you can dial up the time it takes.

It's the "powerup time" setting at the very end of /powerups/over shield.equipment

Aha, so if I set it to 10000000 then it'll drain so slowly that it wouldn't be noticable?

Thanks.

Isn't the overshield in campaign non-draining? Maybe the SP version has different settings, try comparing them.

no the single player overshield does not drain unless you take damage.... That's correct

I always thought that had to do with the game engine it's self you know: Multiplayer Drains, and Single player doesn't

Yes, using a custom map, devmode (with a fast hand in typing), or an external application used to modify the game your in (none available at this moment to my current knowledge).
