Okay I've been working on a level of mine for awhile and it use a regular campaign map...
but recently when I tried to rebuild the map with tool it says: tags to big for bsps 0.5m
### failed to build cache file

I tried to figure I dont know what that means?? So my guess is... is there a limit on campaign maps or something maybe to many ai??? But that couldn't be it cuz the orginal scenerio made by bungie had so much more ai?? So what happened??

There is a limit in making a map. I once got 58 mb over the limit (128). Took me a while to clean up >.<

Anyway, since you're modding a campaign map, there are many tags that are repeatedly added. For example, in scenery, you will see that there are certain kinds of scenery that have been added twice, or even more than twice. Delete the extras, and redirect the missing tags to the one that has been added.

Ugg... It won't compile at all, because the scripts already compiled inside the map require certain bipeds, vehicles, and recorded animations. If you want to make this a MP map, it's best that you begin from scratch. New scenario, and set the BSP to the one you want.

its the bsp. Not the scenario. The only way i can think of fixing this is to get the model in MAX and then make it a low poly model. then compile the model into a brand new bsp. Unless theres another way. (since bsp's being too large dont work with tool_pro, only the scenario files; scenery, vehicle, weapons etc.)

Eh... It's not the BSP. It's the scenario file. Like Gamma said, there's too many tags added to the palette.

Tags in your map are taking up to much data space that the game doesn't have enough room to have your bsp and tags all loaded at the same time. either make your bsp file size smaller, or remove tags. Remember that a tag is loaded into memory once, no matter how many times it's referenced. So if you remove a tag, make sue you are removing all refrences.

The limit is not 128. My new SP just compiled, worked correctly, file size of 148 MB. The tagspace is dependent on your BSP size.

I meant that the limit for my BSP was 128.
