Get ready for some chocolate pain...

I've seen those Death Island/Silent Cartographer mods with the a50 night sky, but the ground is always lit as if it were sunny. If I wanted to make the entire map night, would I need to re-do the entire texture for the island or just redo the light-maps? (I don't know how they work, but as far as I know they have to do with your map's lighting.) If I would have to redo light-maps, how/where would I do that? Thanks for putting up with my inexperience, if you do decide to help. :)

You would need to re-run lightmaps.

I don't exactly remember how to do so, perhaps someone else can assist you.

UnevenElefant5 taught me this...
Taken from a pm from him
if you are running it in Tool, just type in:
tool lightmaps levels\mapname\mapname mapname 0 0.9
and let it run.

If in Sapien:
press ~
type:
radiosity_quality 0 (or whatever value you want, the lower the better quality i believe)
then:
radiosity_start
your map should become all gray and some numbers should start counting down in the top left corner of the game window. when it reaches 0 for all numbers type:
radiosity_save
then wait a little and your map should be done with lightmaps.

I suggest doing this first in tool until your final version; otherwise you will be waiting for a good while.

tool lightmaps levels\b30\b30 b30 b30\0 0.9

I think is the command.

I don't think thats the command. There is not "\" after the last b30

And so it does it automatically? The map will become dark? That's pretty cool/easy. Thanks guys!
