Extending my Banshee topic at http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=24898 I thought what about REAL people banshee war. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/OUTSIDE.jpgBut then goes through my head that others may have thought of this and acturaly made and map with 16 banshees' but placing 16 banshees' randomly would make for a poor experience. so was the chalange, what can i do that would be DIFFERENT, EVEN, and POSABLE! Messing with Sapien, I tried every Multiplayer map and came to Timberland. the halls are long and made it an ideal Air base. but how was i going to set it up was the question. Knowing 16 Banshees' may cause lag, i deleted all the seanery. which made the map even more ideal for the Banshee Air Fights! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/Field.jpghttp://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/Field2.jpghttp://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/Field3.jpgi could only fit 7 banshees' in a row without having them bump them out of place. and tried to cram them in the bigger parts of the top floor. but came the thought that the other banchis will be pushed. so the added chalange is to have it so they dont hit each other when launching. i finaly came up with a set up that worked http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/EightBanshees.jpgThen an idea i had previously i used so when to touch the ladders, it telaports you to you top floor enter and exit door way. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/Telaport.jpgbut the thing is, when i did that, the third banci became the center of attention and for a first timer, he will grab it imedietly, PUSHING the frount two down (if still there). So to solve this problem, i made a cheap wall leading you to see the fount 2 first. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/ViewEnter.jpghttp://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/ViewEnter2.jpghttp://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/ViewEnter3.jpgthen behind it is a carefuly set up area and set a wall so the 2 in the center will not burst forward and hit the other one. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/inside.jpgso the banshees' structure was set. so came the thought, what else can add to make the map more...engageable. so i began blocking the lower floors exits and put overshields at the upperfloor where you see on the screenshot. and knowing others might try to land back in, created an outside landing zone where you can refresh. in this screenshot, the center of the clusters are overshields with 2 health pads next to it. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/UpperSuplies.jpgand put an gunner warthog in place of a turrent, is because i didnt have any at the time. a good place for SOMEONE to protect your base and landing zone for refreshing. with 2 overshields and health pack so the gunner can refresh too. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/Turrent.jpgEXTRA: And for even a bigger touch. have the blue base -Normal Banshees'- and the red team -Heretic Banshees'- http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/vs.jpgAnd if its not too much, ied like to add Tons of base light. to add a little, Base Like theme. and i dont use Gmax for i cant install it on windows vista. but if one can make a map with bases. make the top floor big enough only for 8 banshees' in a streight row. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t181/firedragontao/ExtraLights.jpg

We've been able to get alot of aicraft in spv1. in C40 theres a fight that has about 20 flood controlled aircraft, 7 covenant, 8 wraiths, 50-60 sentinels and 7 other things. It's best if you can make the aircraft unmanned, as the game won't need to render the geometry. Or just make the rider be invisible.

Well, for what it is worth I actually like this mod. It is nice to see a mod that isn't in bloodgulch, just has modded weapons, is actually thought out, and has a specific purpose in it.

Those ''black holes'' are the shadows from the scenery before he deleted it. He should just rerun light maps and it will have shadows in the corect places. thats why i tried to set it up so you have to grab the first 2. i got all 3 ladders to telaport you you the top floor enterence.

Ive played both in full servers - and they are fun for those that like air wars. Tusken Raid also does this with multiple flying vehicles. (both above maps are modded/boosted shees) If you spawned that many shees in such a tight place, any movement, including spawns would kill you. One shot of the fuel rod primary fire would wipe out your entire garage/base, and allow for uber-spawn camping - which means players will quit and hate the map. Keep them separate, far enough apart that spawn camping wont be an issue. Place player spawns near, but not close to each vehicle, and each player/vehicle spawn separate from each other and it should limit that abuse. For Slayer have them spawn all over the map. For CTF, keep players/vehicles at separate bases. For King/Oddball - also all over the map. For race, one central location (ground level, center both sides of stream), vehicle and player spawns behave unpredictable (blues spawn at red, vice versa and sometimes players at one base, vehicles at the other - lots of walking = hate the map). Look forward to seeing the final product.

Jets? Jets?! I can imagine they buggy collision model getting stuck in a small map. Anway if you want customization, just get a reskinned/modified shee like the heretic one. I like the idea for the mod though!
