I noticed the scripted camera mode and how i can execute cinematic commands in it, but is it possible to run a whole cinematic script in sapien? To preview it so i don't have go through the long proses of building a cache file and re-starting haloce just to see if my cinematic is the way i want it?

If you can type super fast, then yes. I'm not sure what the scripted camera mode does, but you could try typing in each individual command, such as (camera_set cam1 200), and try to keep pace. Marine recording and all devcommands also work in Sapien.

notice when you type camera control 1 in sapien it doesn't work? that's what scripted camera mode is for i think. it also does other odd things, like while in it if you click on a dead unit, it says you picked up his weapons. trying to keep the pace is useless when your aiming to see if your scripts timing is right.

If only there were a way to past things into the command line. Then you could copy your entire scripts and past it. But sapien won't show a lot of stuff anyway. Better to test it in halo. ALL command prompts work correctly in halo and you can see effects, decals, etc. And the player is present, so you can make sure that the ai are behaving correctly. For instance, if ai are supposed to run a command list for a cut scene, but you accidentally set them so they could break out of it if they saw the player, in sapien it might work, but in halo, it might not.
Get "halo easy map manager v2" and disable all the maps except for yours. Halo will load MUCH faster.
Keep tool open and just press "up" then "enter" to quickly build the cache file. It will also build it faster the less tags you have, and the smaller size they are. Don't make my mistake and use a 1024X1024 floor bitmap for instance.
An odd side note, I've discovered that xfire will say you are playing 'renegade" if you only have one map in your maps folder when you start halo.

Also, there's a way to run a scenario's scripts in Sapien: run_game_scripts "boolean" This can be very useful for testing some things, but because of what Vick Jr said about Sapien's limits, it's best to test your cutscenes in Halo regardless of this option.

thanks, that's helpful. Still can't get it to test the full cinematic (it doesn't run the camera commands in my script) but it's useful to see if my ai's are doing what there supposed to.
