So if you ever look at a bitmap in a bitmap viewer or in guerrilla they sorta look like a unwrap or do look like a unwrap so are they just unwraps of the weapons?

You unwrap the model to a 2d plane, then you texture it.

Problem with that is some parts wont fit it perfectly or the details wont be in the right spot
