1. Ok, I just want to hear different opinions on this to get it out of my head.

Halo:Custom Edition is 6-7 years old, but It has over 310,000 downloads(only on this website), More and more people join the forums every day, maps come out very often, over 300 terabytes have been served, and there's clans like CMT and beach party clan to make amazing maps that are fun to look at, but won't run on my computer.

Why is there so much interest in Halo:Custom Edition?

Is it because theres SOOO much that you can do with it's numerous modding tools, or is it because Halo:CE is wayyyy better than the other halo games(not to everyone), or maybe because you can even use it to spread viruses to peoples computers :D.

What do you think?

2.Bungie needs someone to do AI scripting for them. Does anyone here think they have enough talent for this? I mean, look at what some random people do with computer programs on their extra time, just imagine what you could do with advanced programs working for Bungie. At least send them some of your work to them to say that you have tried. I mean dis srsly u guyz! Y dun u taek meh srsly???

Answer plz .....alright bye by

(thank u dennis for this awesome website so we can do our nerdy stuff, even though ur dennis the mennis)

i dont think the age matters......., I totally agree with Jimmy, but heres the truth; a couple of moths ago, I tried on convincing Bungie on an update for CE, They said that they liked to look ahead, thats not all,Bungie wants ppl who have a "school education" to do stuff in thier games, now, what i think they should do, is show us what they know, and then we work for them :) but , im preaty sure they wont

It was Sunny Sharma that first exposed the beauty of lighting in Halo.

Lol.

If anything Halo CE is dying. Sure there are more people registering but more than half the time they were watching the forum for years. If you actually play Halo CE you'll notice more servers than players and unfortunately they aren't good maps.

1: Honestly, why people play H:CE is for their own personal reason. 'Personally', I came to CE because I wanted to fly a Pelican and other ships, something I had always wanted to do since I first played Halo. And I sutck around because I enjoyed making my own creations. And here I am today, making a Flood Campaign with a bunch of other people.

2: Ai 'scripting'? As in using Halo's built-in script utility, or code itself. Well, I'm sure someone will do it someday, I'm actually quite interested in AI mechanics and such, so maybe I'll look into it after my current project.

Note: To all you people saying "Were only ages 12-17. Emmm, who cares? My age isn't going to stop me from doing something with my life.

E1: I haz a typo =O

Every game starts to die the minute it is released. It is just the way of things. I find it amazing that Halo CE is still as viable just as popular today as it was when it was released. The download rates for the game have not slowed and like always people are playing it for their own reasons. Not all to do with playing on-line. Sooner or later people will stop playing it but so far the rate of new people coming to Halo CE pretty much matches the numbers that are leaving. It is bound to drop off but so far is really hasn't.

That would probably be when Halo 3 CE is released with just as much features in H3EK as HEK.

Halo 2 Vista...?
They're not going to make a whole new port just to be able to customize more.

If Halo 3 Custom Edition is just as customizeable as HCE and more, then I'll probably do my projects on it after I update my computer's rampart. It'd definitely be an incredibly awesome SDK.

Chances are not too many people will leave. Halo 3 will need a great PC in order to run it not to mention the OS. It might end up on Windows 7 and on top of that I doubt the H3EK will be as good as HEK, it will end up like H2EK.

Bungie is an Xbox company not a PC game company. I seriously doubt that there will ever be a PC version of Halo 3. Even if by some small infinitesimal chance there was a PC version made it would most likely not have a level editor other than Forge that is built into the game.

Uhhhhh, no?

A game starts to die when the playerbase decreases in quantity, which is usually shortly after it stops being supported. Or after/before depending on the quality of the game.

I did not say it was right, and I did not say it was wrong. It IS pure opinion. That may be how it feels to you, but to others, it feels like games decline the moment they are released.

Unfortunately for you how you feel about new games, does not have any correlation whatsoever to their player base expanding or decreasing.

All games fade away and as ACoLOL said it is usually after they are no longer supported. Halo CE is somewhat unique in that aspect since it was released as an unsupported upgrade and has maintained quite a stable if small player base.

more players would go online
if we would have more new interesting maps to play

these day's most people make a simple canyon with 2 bases
and call it a map

but there is nothing wrong with those kind of maps
but we already have thousends of maps with canyons with 2 bases in it

As a map maker i would suggest to either make a map that sets it self apart from most other maps or go into the singleplayer map making wich is almost untouched compared with the mp maps
