You need to have the Chieftan as your leader.

I think Ensemble took CMT's idea for the needler turret :V.

I mean in the little picture, the needler is mounted the same way as in the CMT Needler Shade Turret.

The Flood are enemies in the game and have their own "bases" if thats what you want to call them. You cannot play as them, but they attack anything, UNSC, Covenant, Rebels, anything. And once they have captured your base they use it to create more of its units, I'm guessing if they took over a Covenant base, it'd produce Flood-infected covenant units. Also, the Flood cannot be stopped or killed, but you can however make their base go into dormant state after enough damage to it.

Just because they had the same idea doesn't mean they took it.

IMHO, Halo wars is great. It's a combination of my two most favourite games - Age of Empires and Halo.

What I dont like about it is that the bases are restricted. In AoE, AoK and AoK:TC the villagers were free to roam and build your empire where you wanted. Here you are limited to a few slots on a peice of metal and the maps dont have many open base's availible. (Even then they are either aleady captured by the opposing team or captured by the bandits.)

The demo is fantastic. Although I agree that the campaign was too short to really see anything, the cut scenes were stunning. The skirmish is probably the best part of it though. The demo doesn't restrict you from having almost all the units. (I especially am pleased that I get to rain hell with the Scarab)

The UNSC side to it is great. Everything seems familiar in the sence that, I know what mostly all the units are and it just seems like "I've seen that before"

The Covenant is totally win. Playing as the prophet of regret with a big laser of doom is amazingly fun. And the covenant get such cooler things - like Shield Generators. And their bases look HAWT.

Although, however, I don't like the way that Ensemble have made all the covenant units Purple, rather than using original colors for ranks etc.

Overall its awesome. HOT

So why did the needlers have to be mounted the same exact way?

@pakar: 1.4 GB exactly.

@RougeSpartan: In the game tyour viewing it from a first person, or third person perspective. In a book your viewing it from a narrative perspective. Personally, I'd prefer viewing it from a 1st person/3rd person perspective. However, reading from a book can also be better in some cases. But for now, regarding what is lore, and what is not. Halo bible is lore, end of story.

@Dr. Pepper: Care to explain why?

@doginthemafia: Now I know you haven't played it. The graphics are about the same as Halo 3.

And, show some respect for ES, they did a great job making this game.

You need to have the Chieftan as your leader.

How would you do that?

Well when you buy the game, he will be a playable faction. Whether or not you will have to unlock him first is unknown though.

@Pakar: Thats about the same as my xbox live connection and speed, so it could take 1 to 2 hours total.

I did challenges. Play as UNSC vs UNSC, then UNSC vs Covenant, and vice versa. Do all four of them on Heroic. The hardest for me was Covenant vs Covenant.

Narrator is actually better for story since it should be 3rd person omniscient you know everything, which is the facts. First person is that persons feelings, not the facts.

But the books have often contradicted each other and the games.

And Halo Wars contradicts everything that is previous, and the Fall of Reach, which was the first released (2 weeks before Halo: Combat Evolved). Your point?

Actually, Contact Harvest contradicts everything else and that' sthe first of everything in the story.

And everything contradicts H1, because in H1 the covenant believed halo was some sort of super weapon.

It is a super weapon. The ability to wipe the galaxy clean of sentient life isn't a super weapon?

In Halo 1, the Covenant believed it was a super-weapon. Keyes overheard a conversation. In Halo 2 and 3, the Covenant loyalists thought when activated, it would give them unlimited power, the path of the Forerunners.

What Veex said.

In H1 they thought it was a super weapon, in H2/3 they thought it would bring them on the great journey. You could make the argument that the T&R was a ship that became part of the heratics, but the ship ended up exploding in the book, and in the game it was on the ring when it blew.
