What will happen?

-Process will begin
-All Talk, community will get mad and demand pictures.
-Pictures will be shown, then get flamed
-Flames will break into fights
-You will then say you are no longer showing pictures
-You will hide the creation process from us and refuse to release any details
-The thread will be thrown into the past. The project will be forgotten
-I will then say I was victorious and state how the project was never completed.
-I will then get flamed for being right.

Thank you.

In Kids defense his modeling capabilities are better than the maps he makes. His only downfall is that he makes them too fast and doesn't put too much thought into it.

I see this

-process will begin
-people will demand pics of work
-after awhile people will say pics or gtfo
-pics will be presented
-pics will be criticized
-someone will say something stupid and start a flame war
-the creator gets all butt hurt because people don't like it
- process continues to go on despite all the flaming
-people will continue to bash the creator
-the creator will quit something he really wanted to do but couldn't because people had no faith
-we will all continue to do what we do
-hearts will be shattered
-dreams will be crushed
-at the end of the day we will wake up and do the same exact thing

that seems to happen alot too

If you all don't want to participate in peoples projects, why do you spam their threads? Common sense.

I don't care one bit anymore. These kids on here can hardly complete a map, weapon, or vehicle. But we are all expecting a full length movie? Im sick of being so nieve and this time I'm calling you out.

You need to grow up now. All you sound like is a pre-mature 11 year old, whining about stuff you can't even do.

But you know, every great project has its non-believers. This has absolutely nothing to do with you kidd. He asked for responses that weren't flames, he asked for people with intermediate modeling skills, you meet none of those requirements. So I suggest to get the hell out.

*yawn* school is boring, hi guys, got back, and by the way, grow up, this looks awful, and not on topic, I can see nobody on this thread is interested, and I try to show/tell everyone some news or a small request, and I get shot by a .50 caliber Browning Automatic Machine gun (BAR), thanks guys, you are a real inspiration to the reason of why no company will ever share anything they make, without a reason.

So, without further or do it or not, I want to know something from you: "Why must you see proof, other than the reason of proving something, WHY?" If there is not a reason for something other than pure curiosity, or just doubt, tell me now, if your answer is either of those two, then its not a valid answer, it wont even be considered an answer, it is a complaining user.

I can explain curiosity more than doubt, but even I see no reason for you too bag me down, because your curiosity was not solved, thus, you have doubt. Patients is key!

Could Dennis please step in now and stop you guys from being mean about this, I mean whats the point I`m sure the movie will come out great!

No one is being mean, all they are doing is calling Kip out on his work (which for some bizarre reason he doesn't want to show) and the reason they are calling him out is because he is talking about making a full-length animation, yet has shown no work that would say he's capable of it.

For those of you stepping into this topic feeling bad for the kid you need to understand that he has no means of listening to anything anyone will say to him (criticism or advice).

Once again what animation program and rendering software will you be using for this project? Also since we (your audience) are not allowed to see any teaser images, could we get a rundown of the team, their backgrounds in 3d would be great.

Images, no, a trailer is being released soon, be patient.

Software we are using: 3Ds Max 8.0/7.0, Maya 2008. (That's for models and animation.)

Just when i thought It could not get any worse. You are creating a trailer from clips that aren't even going to be in the movie. WOW. No, you create the movie, take clips from that and then make the trailer so we see what we are actually getting. You obviously have no idea where you are going with this.

Unless you want the movie to be 90 seconds long your going to have to pay people.
And i am sorry to say this i mean it with no offense but this will never be done.
And if it does get done then it will be like a comic.

Well, we are animating the trailer (pre-rendered, using existing models), and using 3d animation software (not gmax, 3ds max, sketchup, or maya).

It will be roughly 1:30, so, your right on the dot. But the movie will be about an hour/hour and a 1/2 long. Like it or not, the longer, the better.

I see it as a "you getting a free movie", rather than "look at what we did, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL", I hate gloating/gloaters. (I used to kinda be one, lol)

K, so we are rendering this whole thing, using another program that is not as well as max or maya. Those are the best animation software out there. Not to mention, if this is high quality, I suggest you get a couple of your fellow friends desktops and use them as a combined memory hog.

And that has nothing to do with the movie? This is a render. Do you even know what a render is? He is rendering ANIMATIONS. Not head bobs that appear like they talk.

I said stop, I was only defending this. Is that too hard for you too understand? Dennis is going to break this up pretty soon. I really don't want you to get banned again. It's a pain to see people try and get back their ego. I admit, I screwed up a couple times here on the forums. But I learned, and I won't do those mistakes again.

Why not make the movie and then make a trailer? Producers don't make a trailer then shoot the movie. I do hope this will be done but I personally think it will never be finished. Mapping teams barley last a month. What is going to keep the animators from leaving the project?

To keep my attention you'll have to make it look like this.

Because people like to feel they are a part of something where they can either learn from the experience, feel part of something grand and successful or feel like they are contributing to something worth it.

This is why they want to see (and compare) their works against your current ones. This way they can evaluate if their talents are either up to expectations or beyond the team's ability.

Why does the second point matter? Because a modeller of high quality would not wish to model with people of a lower quality / project as this could affect their 'rep'. For example we could have a project with terrible models but 1 single good model; because of the ratio between good and bad, which in this case could be 95% vs 5%, people would most likely say the entire project is bad; what could happen is that the good model may appear 10 minutes into a lengthy film; but if the film is 'fail', most people wont watch until the good model comes in and people may deem the entire project/those associated with it are 'fail'.

Furthermore, should this happen, the person who did make the good model will b disapointed and will see their time/effort/work as wasted. Nobody likes these feelings. Nobody has REAL time to waste and that is why they ask for proof. Curiousity and doubt also factor into these reasons too I suppose, but I ask u dont merely disregard these comments. Theyre trying to broaded your perspective on this issue.

As for why people may bag u down, not all of them are doing this; this is just your view on how they say things. Some people are also trying to help u by trying to convince u otherwise to not waste time and attempt something you CAN accomplish. Some are trying to warn others of the same issue.

Which ever of these reasons it is; I dont personally care, maybe I missed some reasons too. I hope this has shed some light kip and you dont just ignore or disregard this as I tried to answer u as honestly and impartially possible. My view on this is neutral and im not taking sides here, Im merely showing different viewpoints.

But I do have 1 thing to say... Throwing money at a problem does not fix a problem. That can also be applied to this situation.

I also believe Kidd is right in terms of the trailer; the method you are attempting this only wastes time and effort; it would be more wise to make a trailer of what you will be using and not substitutes. People will not know what to expect and that in itself, although among other reasons generally causes conflicts of interest...

Although I would like to take sides with Holy because he is in my team, I can't because Kidd does have a pretty valid point. He makes machinima and knows the basics about laying down the rules...

If you don't like his advice, ignore it. Or simply take it.

Rejecting and fighting back, only fuels a drama that can be eliminated from the start.

I hope you do take this advice.
Alright, so going in every one of the topics he makes and flaming him because he doesn't have any pics is going to help? Machinima isn't that hard to act out, and the fact that people make movies for games is pretty lame. Does anyone here know what a girlfriend is?

Oh god, another "You have no life" steriotype. Well guess what smartass, for doing what I love and making machinima (Ok, so headbobbing isnt hard. But is editing, filming, color correcting, rendering, voices, audio, vfx hard? yea shut the hell up) I have gotten just about $800. Not bad on my watch.

What you guys think of me doesn't matter, but the point I am getting at is, why is it when a specific user posts a thread, you all spam it with "PICS OR GTFO" and useless comments such as that. If Bungie was hiring a team to make a new Halo, do you think they would publicly show them in a public forum? No. This is why they call it the element of surprise.

That spamming wasn't DEE or Daax's Fault. So what? Daax and I laughed a little, but Daax had no part in it. DEE asked me to bring him down because he rips, so I did it, because I am a friend. I also would like to say, yes, that was really immature, and I apologize for my immaturity. But seriously, in my opinion, that guy rips and takes credit for it. Anyone can rip the model, make a render and just slap a texture on it and call it theirs. This is not the place or time for it, so if you would like to argue about it, please use Private Messages.
