Is there a way I can turn Water to Ice, such as Death Island, etc... I just want to test this out for myself and see what I can come up with Edited by iTails on Jan 31, 2009 at 12:47 PM

Ice is just a textured piece of flat land if i'm correct, if you import DEEhunters cubemap v2 map then you could look at how he did it I also made a machinima map where deathisland is completely frozen, just edited the textures of the island, for a crysis like idea after all went to ice, if you ever manage to get it into ice, could be fun. http://jvd.bslinxs.com/haloce 2009-01-22 18-30-46-59.png Big HD pic, don't click if your computer sux

You would have to rip the BSP, then convert it into a .obj file, then import into Max. Then take out the water plane and the fog plane, and the waves. Then do some modeling. And finally, put it all back in game. You can't just simply turn it into ice. You have pretty much model a new BSP.

Doesn't mean you will slide on it. It's still render only. You will go right though it.

Not withought breaking the sealed world rules. You have to rip the bsp, delet the water, and model the ice.

no you would just make the water plane so it wasn't classified as water by the game engine. Rename it so it is not water!$ and assign a different material to it other than water!$ and you should be okay, idk for sure though.

Even if you did keep the plane and change its material to have collision, it wouldn't compile because it breaks the sealed world rules. Water planes usually just cut through half the level without being attached to the level's geometry at all, which is fine when it's render-only, but not if it's going to have collision.
