the particles and stuff(like explosions) dont show up. this problem started a few days ago...

Maybe ur graphics r crapping out. Like my card was 64 mb then I reinstalled vista and it jumped to 256 mb

Main Menu - Settings - Video Settings. Then set everything to High, and particles e.t.c to on.
