Well I don't really know how to animate, I know what it is and how it works, and I can do basic animations, but nothing advanced. Tell me, do you just move the nodes around?

u have to first figure out the animation in ur head, then do each movement slowly. for example:

you want a part of the gun to spin....

1)select the node that controls the part

2)select the animate button

3)move the piece partially (for a spin, try a 1/4 turn

4)click the "next frame" button

5)repeat steps 2 and 3 till u get a full turn

and there u have it

ok well how do you set the node to control a part of the gun? would i just make a seperate element of the gun and link it to the node?

Import the cyborg and a weapon models, and then the weapons animations to get an idea of what the animations should look like. Overlay animations will be screwy, though
You realizze you'll have to rebuild the cyborgs anims? That means you need to extract the cyborgs anims with TheGhost's animations importer, and then add to them.

then there's FP animations. Here's some good info on those:

if your weapon resembles another weapon, look for that other weapon's 2-character label, and try it on your weapon

For starters, familiarize yourself with the animations using the imported models. Import and play animations from a weapon or different weapons to see how they work, paying particular attention to the naming of the animations. If you name your custom weapon animations correctly, tool will set them up for you automatically.
