okay, devmode hates me. a long, long, time ago when i got haloCE i played on devmode without any problems, the i got that SP AI fusion icefields map or something like that then devmode exceptioned when i tried to play it, so i deleted the map, and it still exceptioned. I left it alone for a while because i didnt need it. so when i needed it again it exceptioned on me. i uninstalled then reinstalled. Exception. left it alone then repeatded the process at least 3 or 4 times over the past year. Now i did it today again and it worked the first time, then exceptioned the second and third time i tried. I thought maybe one of the maps i downloaded was messing it up, but its not because the maps worked the first time and nothing changed between the first and second time i tried today. Please help it makes me want to punch something D:<

Completely wipe your hard drive, deleting all your personal files, and then re-install.

why in the world why i want to erase everything on my comp?!?!?! if i did that then i would have no tags, data, maps and then THERE WOULD BE NO POINT IN RUNNING DEVMODE :\

i think you maybe messed up something. did you made a shortcut then in the target typed space after the target then -console -devmode?

i didnt set the shortcut up, there is a devmode shortcut that comes with custom edition by default, its in the start menu. i used that one and when i didnt work i checked the properties heres wat it said:
Target:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" -devmode -console

if it exceptions during loading the game, it means ui.map has to be having an issue (weather loading itself, displaying something.. who knows).. try downloading a differnt one.

does the ordering really matter? And I don't think it's the UI map because the UI map loads fine when running it normally.

i think it does becuse you first need to turn on console to turn on devmode.
