Weird, I was on 1.08.
I'll reinstall ce.
E: Wait, does haloboom just freeze the Halo CE window? So you have to use Task Manager to shut it off and it's "Not Responding"? Edited by Mythril on Jan 2, 2009 at 06:01 PM

... Tell me what exactly happened in your server. You kicked him then he came back and your server started lagging or he said he would take your server down and did not come back and your server crashed. Because. halobooming is when the server is overwhelmed with joining clients that it loops over and over and over until it crashes or lags so that that everybody is kicked by a lost network connection.

oshi woops.
I just assumed -.-
I hosted, someone joined. He was lagging like hell, so I kicked him. About 3-5 mins after, Halo stops responding. Just freezes up. So I think, weird... I close it with task manager, and reopen and rehost. Someone joins and says: "That's what you get for kicking me"
And I'm thinking "whut..."
Anyway, I just keep on playing, more people join. It starts lagging again because I have a crappy network that lags when it goes over around 6 people in my server. I kick the people with the most ping. The guy that joined first was the laggiest. So I kick him. About 20 secs after, I freeze up again.
He never joined back, but I kept on crashing when I hosted. I waited about an hour, and he had given up.

Well that to me sounds like you got boomed but I'm pretty sure they patched it up for 1.08? You'll have to talk to Dennis about this one.

If you used the version changer then you didn't patch the flaw that allows for a buffer overrun error. You need to upgrade to v1.08 to be free of the bug.
