I open Sapien, like usual, but it opens for a milisecond then closes instantly afterward (sort of a flash on the screen). How do I fix this? Debug text isn't useful at all, only stating the standard stuff like usual when I open Sapien normally. I just updated my driver too, if that could have anything to do with it.

Does this occur for all scenarios? If yes, then re-install HEK. This will not delete your tags, or data.

Yes, this occurs on all scenarios. I'll try re-installing the HEK when I have time, although I heard of something you do else....

There is something else you can do, check to see if your colour settings is in 32 bit, once that happened to me, it was 16-bit and I couldnt open scenarios with sapien, then I changed my colour settings to 32-bit and it worked. Try it, it worked for me.

Same here, but it gives a noticable error, and you could probably tell if it was 16 bit, if it was, the recycling bin would look funny, and you can't start up Halo CE

Here:
12.28.08 14:40:10 guerilla pc 01.00.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
12.28.08 14:40:10 reference function: _write_to_error_file
12.28.08 14:40:10 reference address: 4011a4
12.28.08 14:40:10 Couldn't read map file './guerillabeta.map'

IT helps ZERO.

Your Sapien.cfg file (the XML configuration file) may be screwed. Delete it, then restart Sapien. Sapien will then create a fresh one, and it'll actually open.

It's happened to me before. The configuration file screws itself every once in a while, for whatever reason.

I got it confused with Kornman00/Guerilla.

Mine doesn't have a suffix.

It actually says the same thing sub guerilla with sapien.

I'll see if that works.

The thing didn't work. I'm concerned this has to deal with my driver update on my video card (driver?). It went from Xpress to Catalyst if anyone with experience knows about the Catalyst Drive update being flawed at all.

Maps still compile alright though. I've tried running compatibility modes and the configuration thing, but it none worked.

Try rolling back the driver.

I tried reinstalling the HEK, but when it was done and I reloaded Sapien, no dice.

How do I roll back the driver?

Switch back to the original driver.
