I was just wondering if: Is there a map that has the lock on system for the halo 2 rocket launcher? Basically what i am asking is: Is there a Lock On System in Halo CE? Is there a way to make one?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks In advance.

CMT SPv1 has it, sort of. The problem with it though is it locks onto bipeds (or at least I think it does) not just vehicles. You also don't get the second recticle on the target when you've locked on. I think it just works in a similar way to the plasma pistol, it fires a different projectile when charged (in this case a homing rocket projectile (which homes just like needler shots)).

Here's the CMT SPv1 Scilent Cartographer http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1918 however as with most CMT maps I think you'll find it is protected, but you can have a play with the rocket launcher and see what I meant by "sort of". Edited by Rhydgaled Publications on Dec 27, 2008 at 01:11 PM

As I already said though it locks onto bipeds (or at least I think it does) not just vehicles. You also don't get the second recticle on the target when you've locked on. The projectile shouln't be too hard to do, just fiddle with a copy of the rocket launcher's .projectile tag (where it says somthing like "guided angular volicity" I think) and test it out until the get the right ammount of homing. The charging part could be a bit harder (I failed at adapting the plasma pistol into a spartan laser) but take a good look at the plasma pistol tag and see if you can figure it out.

You could ask them. They did it by making the projectile homing (obviously). To make the projectile home in, just edit the guided angular velocity in the projectile tag. It is found in the Physics section. The higher the number, the more the projectile will home in on targets.

It has a function for the holding down of the primary trigger, so when you charge it long enough, it switches to a secondary charged and homing projectile. This is why you cant throw grenades while holding a charged plasma pistol.

(The thing that goes "dele-nat!-nat!" That is what I meant by locking on... Any Advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance. Edited by FrogEJr on Dec 28, 2008 at 12:05 PM

Well you can make an annoying beeping noise, if you want, but it won't actually lock on

Play with that rocket launcher in CMT spV1 (the one that looks like the default one, not the one with a scope and only one barell), it fires a non-homing rocket if you just click once and if you hold the mouse button down it does the beep thing and when you release it fires a homing rocket. As I already said, you don't get the second crosshair thing and it will home in on bipeds not just vehicles but it's probablly the nearest possibile in HALO: Custom Edition. I want to say that it can be done if the reticle is animated to do so when you're aiming at something... but I'm not exactly sure.

The farthest we ever got witha lcok on RL was pretty much what was in SPV1. The Rocket launcher has a secondary trigger, which when charged fires a rocket with homing, like the plasma pistol.
There isn't a way to make it only lock onto vehicles.

Well thanks for the responses guy's.
P.S. No one has told me a solution on why the SPV1/CMT UI isn't working? I'm pretty sure i did everything properly.
1.Put UI in map folder 2.Downloaded SPV1, and put that in the map folder as well. 3.Get's stuck at the hardness/easiness mode selection

Did you treat the UI as a normal map, and extract each and every map individually, and put each and every map there? Because if you don't have the maps, then you cannot select anything.

Basically, UI.map is a map file. If you are missing a10, then no maps can be launched through the Campaign button. If you are missing anything other than a10, then that map simply will not launch.
